TLT Lates: Emma Miller + Arbouring

Join us on Friday 20th March for the next event in our live music series, The Long Table Lates, with Emma Miller and Arbouring!

Scottish songstress Emma Miller has long been touted for her spellbinding voice and poignant lyricism. Her music is relational, real and deeply layered. Originally from just above the Highlands in north east Scotland, there’s a subtle Celtic inflection in her tone and delivery that only adds to the depth of her songwriting.

With influences ranging from teenage years listening to Imogen Heap and Joni Mitchell to discovering voices like Kate Bush, Annie Lennox and Sarah McLachlan, it’s Miller’s unique blend of powerful melodies, deeply personal songwriting and crystal clear, bell-like vocals that make her a truly captivating artist and performer. Cult magazine CLASH noting "her folk-hewn work has blossomed into something remarkable” and BBC 6 Music's Tom Robinson proclaiming her vocals as "rich as a Belgium truffle”.

Support for the evening comes from Stroud based folk duo Arbouring. While they often use electronics and tape loops and a variety of acoustic instruments to furnish their traditional material, this show will focus on unaccompanied voices in harmony, centring the stories and melodies of the traditional material they work with.
